In his shoes.

This is so strange, but somehow hilarious. I don't know why I didn't watch it the first few times I had the chance.

9/2/10: I just found this interview with Jenny Slate about the story behind Marcel.

All my love.

Today would have been my mother's 67th birthday. Sadly, she died in 1996, much too young. I miss her every day and she is always in my thoughts.

I love you Mom.

Swatch watch.

Through noon EST on Friday, August 27th Spoonflower is offering one free swatch of fabric (regularly $5) through their website. It's a great opportunity to try out their custom-printing service. You can choose from loads of pre-existing designs, use their tools to create your own, or download a design from a JPEG file.

One more great thing about this offer is that, if you wish, you can make a donation to Heifer International of the regular $5 swatch fee, or whatever other amount you'd like!

I've been interested in trying out Spoonflower's service for a while. I started experimenting with pattern design using some of my photos and found one I think (hope?) will look good on their cotton voile (It doesn't look like much when small, so click on photo to enlarge):

I'm thinking a scarf for a finished product if I end up ordering some full yardage.

Lucky me!

This afternoon I found out that I am the very lucky winner of a beautiful necklace from Chelsea of a lovely, little shop, which truly is a lovely little shop. I can't wait to add this fabulous necklace to my jewelry wardrobe!

Thanks so much, Chelsea!

The Chevron necklace, new to my shop today. Vintage glass trade beads strung on an antiqued brass ball chain. More coming soon, including several other color combos.

For the birds.

Sparkle.

Supplies for a new project I'm working on.

Power puffs.

Delicious ham & cheese puffs from Panade, a petite neighborhood hangout on the Lower East Side owned by a friend of a friend. Ate the last two today with some yummy scrambled eggs. I do kick ass at making scrambled eggs, I must say. It's a good thing I don't live closer to her shop or I would be eating these every day.

Operators are standing by...

In today's edition of my frequent, almost obsessive perusal of the Wonderful World of Etsy, I discovered this very funny video about working for the company. Act now--don't delay!

Get your braid on.

Well, the braided bracelets are finally up for sale in my shop. Right now there are only two, but I plan to make more if these two sell... think of them as test product. The wooden bead bib necklaces are next up, either on Friday or Monday.
