Freedom Riders.

I just watched this documentary on PBS. If you are in the states, you really should make sure to see it when it airs in your area... a recounting of an horribly turbulent time in American history, and incredible that it was only fifty years ago. I hope those of you in other countries can also get to see it, but even if you can't you really should visit the website about the rides and the riders who worked to bring desegregation to the US.

Last week I received a wonderful package in the mail. Lenneke, designer and proprietress of shop and blog A Little Hamster in the Netherlands, sent me a sweet, delicate braided bracelet from her shop as part of the exchange project she is doing with other jewelry designers around the globe. Skirting the issue.

I have a feeling we're in for a steamy summer here in New York... I'm thinking wearing this breezy skirt along with my new H&M Hasbeens* will be a great way to try to beat the heat (or at least tame it down a bit).

*That is, if I can learn to walk in them without almost falling four times in one day like I did on Friday.
